actually living out of the country for 2 years was good for our relationship--we actually talked MORE while we were apart than when we lived in the same place (he is a work-a-holic and was on call for IT so there were days I only saw him snoring next to me). We emailed daily about our activities and such, though being out of my house for 2 years left him time to misplace just about everything (I still have yet to locate a few objects-----).

and getting a job right out of college is hard, my sister (who graduated summa? cum laude...) couldnt even get a job when she graduated, her problem was she had never worked in her field before, so no experience = no job (yep, during that same recession in the 80's), she ultimately wound up in a completely different field. (I dont think I ever worked in the fields I got my degrees in either

)

I was lucky enough to have a job before I graduate. But only because I was looking months before I was scheduled to graduate. Got lucky and found my current job. Now after 4 years it looks like I will be moving on. Hope I can find another job that quick as well...

We talk a lot, cell phones and skype help. Still not the same as being in the same place though...

for newly weds yeah, hubby and I had been married for 10 years when I left ...and we had lived together for 6 years before that--so 16 years together is a bit different than less than 5. The break helped our relationship quite a bit.
So in another 10 years perhaps a short holiday apart might be ok, and it really didnt feel like that long (guess as you get older time doesnt seem the same---)

Perhaps, because this has felt like an eternity... Just passed the halfway mark. So we are slowly getting closer.

Ya we do enjoy the time when we see each other again. Just lonely to be apart this much... It has opened up a lot of talk though about where too next. She is currently living with her folks until we find an apartment, or a house. She wants an apartment, I would like to move into a house. So we will have to see what we decide to move too.

No "blizzard" here, just a winter storm. Wife is getting a blizzard right now though. I need to tell her to take tomorrow off if the roads still seem bad tonight... Don't want her making a hour long drive to work in this crap...

its not a blizzard here yet either...just plenty of snow and more...snow---blizzard is supposed to come later with the winds....oh joy. (hubby is working from home on monday either way--not going to chance the idiot drivers around here).

I hope we get the day off tomorrow just because of this wind and the snow we got. But I'm not holding my breath for it. I already told my wife she needs to call in tomorrow since they have had blizzard like conditions all day up there.

hubby and I did a small clean out this afternoon to try to find the car before they bury it, but the winds were changing when we were out and I think all the work we did was undone. Guess we have something to do tomorrow then.
Hope you get to stay home too, this isnt the kind of weather I would want my kid out in (and the temps are supposed to be only in the teens tomorrow too).

Well holy cow. They actually called school off. So now I'm sitting at home waiting to be less sore... Shoveled a good amount yesterday. Heart attack snow as well... Will probably have to go out and shovel again later since I'm sure more snow has been pushed behind my car. But at least I have time to do it today. Still waiting for the wife to let me know if she went in or stayed home. Looking at reports up there I seriously hope she is staying home...

Update: She went in. Bad choice. She made it in but had to be pulled out by a local fire department first. Guess she hit a patch of ice and ended up stuck in high snow... She is okay and she said the car seemed fine but still... Sigh... Now she still has to drive back tonight. Here is to hoping they clear the roads by then...

sorry to hear that, not good on the roads here either....and it seems our asssssociation broke its bobcat (neighbor said he saw it in a ditch around the corner), so we arent going to be dug out anytime soon here either (the pile the village left at the bottom of my driveway comes up to the middle of my chest! and its a few feet in and wide as my driveway....so dont think I will be going anywhere today....) We did clear around our car since they usually dont do that area, but dont think I will tackle the end of the driveway, moved more than I should have.

I'm just glad she is okay and the car is okay. She just called to say she is leaving and that she will let me know when she is home... Hopefully the roads are better by now.

We have a truck with a plow here. He plows the main driving sections of the parking lot. Which is great. Unless you want to park. Because all of the snow piles up behind the cars or the spots where cars could park. I went out and shoveled behind the carports yesterday around 9:30am. Then went out again around 4:30pm to shovel again. Lot less snow. Checked this morning and there was basically nothing behind my car. Woo! Power of shoveling. Too bad our snowplow wasn't better so I didn't have to move so much flipping snow.

Hope she got home ok. we are expecting more snow today (go figure)....and they finally cleared out driveways late this morning (could hear them doing it), though I dont think our mail carrier ever got here yesterday.--edit, I guess my carrier said they did not deliver yesterday, so the old saying...'rain, snow...will keep the mail...' well, yesterday it did.

She made it home safe yesterday and today, since it decided to snow up there again today. Not down here though. We are supposed to get our snow tomorrow. Another possible 1-3 inches. During the day. Woo... Could make driving home fun again.

got swatted by that one as well....thinking about building an igloo on my porch (got enough snow for it now--though not as much as the last big storm we had a few years ago--took pics of them both and this one is a few inches less).

We got between 3-4 inches here. Powdery stuff though. Roads still were not fun to drive on... But home safe and sound so go team there I guess.

Ya still need to do our taxes. Harder to do when we are apart...

lol, the 2 years I was in japan, I did our taxes! (even balanced the checkbook one january).
wasnt soo much the snow as the ice underneath that was at issue...it got warm enough the other day to melt some of it, and now with the temps in the teen....ICE!

looks to be a warmup for the weekend...guess I will miss my chance at making the snowman on my balcony then.
